About Richard Pauley

Your Voice on City Council
As a lifelong Richland County resident who has called Ontario home for over 30 years, I understand what makes our community special. I’m a retired GM worker, former Ontario Middle School football coach, Red Cross volunteer, and proud father and grandfather who raised two kids here and has deep roots in this community.
My years as a coach taught me the importance of teamwork, listening to different perspectives, and working toward common goals. My experience working at GM in various roles showed me how ordinary people can come together to make their voices heard and create positive change. Through my volunteer work as a Disaster Response Supervisor with the Red Cross, I’ve learned the value of service and helping neighbors in their time of need.
As a current member of the Ontario Planning Commission, I’ve gained valuable insight into our city’s development and growth challenges. Now I’m running for City Council to bring that same collaborative spirit and commitment to service to local government. I believe in transparency, accountability, and ensuring every resident has a voice in our city’s future.
Together, we can build an Ontario that works for everyone – from long-time residents like myself to new families looking to call our city home. My focus is on practical solutions that address our community’s real needs while preserving the character and values that make Ontario special.
