About Rick Pauley

Your Voice on City Council

As a lifelong Richland County resident, I understand what makes our community special. I’m a retired union auto worker, former Ontario middle school football coach, and proud father and grandfather who has deep roots in this community.

My years as a coach taught me the importance of teamwork, listening to different perspectives, and working toward common goals. My experience as a union worker showed me how ordinary people can come together to make their voices heard and create positive change.

Now I’m running for City Council to bring that same collaborative spirit to local government. I believe in transparency, accountability, and ensuring every resident has a voice in our city’s future.

Together, we can build an Ontario that works for everyone – from long-time residents like myself to new families looking to call our city home. My focus is on practical solutions that address our community’s real needs while preserving the character and values that make Ontario special.

My Platform for Ontario

Smart Growth & Community Input

Ensuring all development decisions involve meaningful community input and align with our residents’ vision for Ontario’s future. Growth should benefit everyone, not just developers.

Government Transparency

Making city government more accessible and accountable to residents through open meetings, clear communication, and transparent decision-making processes.

Fair Representation

Ensuring all residents – regardless of neighborhood, income level, or background – have equal voice and representation in city decisions that affect their daily lives.

Accountable Property Management

Implementing zoning policies that hold out-of-town landlords responsible for property conditions and tenant behavior, protecting our neighborhoods’ quality of life.

Economic Development

Attracting quality jobs in industrial, technology, and manufacturing sectors that provide good wages and career opportunities for our residents.

Thoughtful Housing Development

Supporting new housing that matches community preferences and maintains Ontario’s character while addressing our housing needs responsibly.

Marshall Park Improvements

Enhancing Marshall Park with community-driven improvements that create spaces for families to gather, play, and enjoy outdoor activities together.

Stowell Park Enhancement

Upgrading Stowell Park facilities and amenities to better serve our community’s recreational needs and provide quality spaces for all ages.
